Donate money for postage

Sending books to prisoners all across the country costs a lot of money. We currently have a nice collection of books that is constantly growing, but so is the number of prisoners who write us, and hence our postage costs keep going up. Your donations are necessary for us to keep sending books to prisoners. We want to continue doing what we do, and we need YOUR help. Of all general donations to Book 'Em, 95% goes directly to postage costs. We give 5% of incoming funds to the Thomas Merton Center, our fiscal sponsor that also houses us and provides us with internet, bookkeeping, and other services.

Small donations are incredibly useful (as are, of course, larger donations). The typical package Book 'Em mails contains 3 books and requires $2.07 in postage. You can help change the lives of 10 prisoners for $20.70, improve the lives of 20 prisoners for $41.40, and so on...

Donations to Book 'Em are 100% tax deductible. Please notify us if you would like a receipt! Donations can be brought or mailed to the Thomas Merton Center 5125 Penn Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15224.

It is quite safe and easy to donate online through the Thomas Merton Center's donation form. Be sure to choose "Book 'Em" in the "For project" selection bar.

Please be assured that your name will be kept confidential and will not be communicated to any other organization than the Thomas Merton Center, nor to any prisoner who will receive a package thanks to your donation. For more information contact bookem(at)indypgh(dot)org or call (412)361-3022. Please mark all postage donations "Book 'Em Postage Donation".
