Kissinger Comes to Town

Henry Kissinger will be speaking in Pittsburgh on October 5th as part of the Robert Morris University Distinguished Lecture Series. The university’s publicity praises Kissinger as one of the most brilliant secretaries of state in United States history; he has earned a Nobel Peace prize for his leadership and diplomacy skills. But Henry Kissinger also has been tied directly to genocide and murders in Vietnam, East Timor, Chile, Cambodia and Cyprus. Many have argued that he should be indicted for war crimes; the most recent being Christopher Hitchens in his book “The Trial of Henry Kissinger.”

Local activist Paul Donahue is organizing a protest action against Kissinger’s violent, deadly, anti-democratic foreign policy legacy during Kissinger’s lecture at Heinz Hall. “We will make sure Kissinger and every attendee knows that we are aware of his crimes,” Donahue says.
