Confronting Violence Against Women

As part of the YWCA’s Annual Week Without Violence, a “Confronting Violence Against Women March & Rally” was held in Market Square on Wednesday, October 20.

Speakers addressed issues such as the emotional and psychological trauma caused by violence. That evening, the Center for Victims of Violence and Crime hosted a presentation, “Recognizing Trauma in Victims of Violence,” at the Carlow Interfaith Center in Oakland. One of the sponsoring domestic violence groups, Dionne’s Project for Safe Relationships, remembered Carlow University student Dionne Scott White, who was murdered by her partner last October.
